At Little Learners, we know that children make the best progress when nursery and home work hand in hand. Our Home Learning and Support page is designed to give families simple, practical ideas to help their child learn, play, and grow beyond the nursery day. Early childhood is full of exciting milestones, and even the smallest moments at home can make a big difference. 

We share regular tips, activities, and guidance to help you support key areas of early development, including: 

• Communication and Language  – fun games, songs, and conversation starters to build confidence and vocabulary. 

• Early Literacy – mark making ideas, story suggestions, and ways to support early phonics skills. 
• Early Maths – playful counting, sorting, and problem-solving activities using everyday objects. 

• Personal, Social & Emotional Development – routines, independence skills, and ways to support emotional wellbeing. 

These ideas are designed to fit naturally into family life, making learning enjoyable and stress‑free.

Supporting all learners 

For children who may need additional help, we work closely with our SENDCO, Mrs Merrett, to provide tailored home learning strategies that complement the support they receive in nursery. This joined up approach helps children feel secure, confident, and ready for their next steps.
